💬 Messages Are Here: Chat with Friends and Your Fleet

Whether you are arranging a raft-up, checking in after a passage, or deciding whose dinghy is making the snack run, conversations with your boating circle now have a home inside Saillogger.

You can now send direct messages to boaters in your network and join a private group conversation for each fleet you belong to.

Here is what is new:

• Chat boat to boat
  Start a direct conversation with a boat you follow, a boat that follows you, or another member of one of your fleets. Saillogger identifies members by their boat name whenever one is available.

• Bring the fleet together
  Each fleet has one shared chat for its current Saillogger members. Open it from the fleet map or find it alongside your direct conversations in Messages.

• Send photos, emoji, and reactions
  Share a quick photo, add emoji, or acknowledge a message with a reaction when a full reply would be overkill. Direct conversations also support replies and forwarding.

• Jump in from around Saillogger
  Look for Message actions on friend and fleet surfaces, and on supported arrival and departure updates, so you can continue the conversation without hunting for the right boat.

• Choose how messages reach you
  Direct Messages and Fleet Messages have separate E-mail and Phone controls under Settings > Notifications. Phone notifications require a linked Pushover account.

Messaging stays within your boating network: you cannot search for or start conversations with strangers. Fleet chat is visible only to current fleet members, even when the fleet map is public.

Available now for signed-in Saillogger users on the web and in the mobile apps.
