🌬️ Windy Stations Are Back, and Open to Many More Boats

Anchored somewhere the nearest weather station is a long way off? Your masthead already knows what is blowing out there, and your boat can now put that on the map for everyone else.
Saillogger's Windy.com integration has been rebuilt after Windy retired the API it ran on, and it takes far less instrumentation to qualify than it used to.
Here is what is new:

A wind sensor is enough
The old rules asked for true wind direction and an outside temperature before the switch would even turn on. Now a single usable reading qualifies: wind, outside temperature, humidity or barometric pressure. Whatever your boat measures is published and the rest is simply left off, so a boat with nothing but an anemometer makes a perfectly good station. -
Wind over the ground, worked out for you
Nothing to configure and no extra sensor to buy. Saillogger combines your masthead's apparent wind with the boat's heading, course and speed to produce the wind a weather map actually wants. If a reading cannot be converted without guessing, the wind value is left out rather than invented, and your temperature, humidity and pressure still publish. -
Sustained wind and gusts, not one lucky sample
Each update summarizes the last 15 minutes: the average goes out as sustained wind, the peak as the gust. A lull at the moment of publishing no longer hides what actually blew through. -
One switch, and the station sets itself up
Turn on Windy under Settings > Integrations. Saillogger registers the station for you, and its windy.com address appears on that row shortly afterwards. Windy takes up to 15 minutes to activate a new station and discards anything sent while it does, so your first reading lands on the update after that. -
Your station follows the boat
It re-registers where you are once you have properly moved, and it goes quiet instead of presenting hours-old weather as current when your boat is offline. Nobody navigating by that map gets a stale reading with your boat's name on it.
A Windy station is public by design: your boat name and position appear on the windy.com map, which is the whole point of filling a gap where there is no other station for miles. That is separate from your Saillogger sharing settings, so treat it as a public position. It stays off until you turn it on, the switch is disabled until your boat has sent a weather reading Windy can use, and the master Sharing switch turns it on and off too, so check Integrations after you move that.
If your boat was publishing to Windy before this, it may come back at a new station address. Reply here if you spot a second pin carrying your boat's name and we will clear the old one.
