📸 Help Bring the AIS Map to Life with Vessel Photos
-
A great photo makes a vessel much easier to recognize than a name or MMSI alone! Your camera roll may already hold the photo that helps another boater put a face to a name.
With community AIS vessel photos, every photo you contribute helps other boaters recognize the vessels they see and makes Saillogger’s maps more useful and personal.
Here is what is new:
-
Add a photo while exploring the map
See a boat on AIS? Add a photo! Whether it is a local favorite, a memorable passagemaker, or simply a great vessel you spotted, your photo can become part of its story. -
Help build a better view
Each AIS vessel can have multiple photos, so different angles, locations, and moments all help tell more of its story. -
Your photo, your copyright
You keep the copyright to every photo you submit. We will show your name whenever your photo appears (you may choose to opt out if you want to stay private). -
Earn the Ship Spotter badge
Have photos published for 10 different AIS vessels to unlock the Ship Spotter badge. -
Keep track of your contributions
Open Vessel photos to see everything you have contributed in one place.
Ready to go? Start with your friends, open the Friends map and add your first vessel photo!
Have a favorite vessel spotting story, a photo you are proud of, or an idea for the galleries? Reply here and share it with the community, we would love to hear from you!.
Smooth boating and happy Saillogging,
