    Hi,

I just setup a new SignalK server and configured the Saillogger Plugin.

I have not any customization. The App is tracking the boat and logged my trip from St.Martin to St.Barths. But after the passage, the App shows the boat back in St.Martin, where I first set it up.

I now left St.Barths towards the south and the App is tracking my course, but the boat location is still St.Martin.

Therefore I think that there is a Trackingpoint record with a date in the future and Sailloger always adds that point to the end of the trip.

Anyway that I can fix that from my end? Or any other ideas what could be wrong?

I checked if I have multiple GPS sources and one of them still thinks we’re in St.Martin, but following the steps in the FAQ and checking the logs and the data in SignalK, it don’t see a problem there.

Also FreeboardSK and all other plugins work just fine.

    Cheers
    Erich

Thank you for your post. I suspect this has something to do with the order of the data that came in. I see no reports have been received since April 26th, turning the instruments and Internet for 5 minutes will likely solve this problem. Could you please try it and report back?

Thanks for your reply. The system is online and constantly reporting. It’s updating some of the information, but apparently not the actual position of the boat.

The Tooltip over my boat says:
Updated: April 26th, Make&Model, position and status all as it was when I left Marigot Bay after setting up Saillogger.
But the same tooltip also says: Arrived: 1d 6h ago - which is when I actually arrived Antigua.

On the map top right, under the Layers-Button, I get the position-button. If it’s the crosshairs and I touch it, the map zooms to where I currently am - Antigua - and the button switches to a boat-icon. If I press the boat-icon, the map goes back to Marigot.

Hi there, there is a difference between being online and reporting and having positions. Position is a requirement for the rest and it is not sent to the server right now. The updated time (April 26th) shows the last time a position report was received. I am pretty sure what you are observing is related to that.

Several reasons why position reports might not be coming along:

    1. Internet connection is down (doesn't seem to be the case)
    2. GPS source on NMEA 2000 is not currently on. Note that if you don't have a dedicated GPS or an AIS transceiver, the mostly likely GPS source is the chart plotter. If it is off, this could explain it.
    3. You might have mistakenly entered a GPS source in your Saillogger plugin settings in Signal K. If there is an entry, and misconfigured it might be blocking GPS positions. This is explained in question 13 of support articles in more detail.

Most likely reason is (2) above. Please test it by turning on all your boat electronics and chart plotter and make sure Internet connection is available, then wait 10 minutes. Last updated field in Saillogger should reflect something like "Updated 10 seconds ago". When you see that you can turn your instruments off.

Let us know what you find.

    Hi,

Do you have the ability to look into what is happening in my account? How does the tracking work, if you say it's not reporting positions? As I sail around, the track is updated but the end of the track is linked to some position in the past.

For me this means, that I have position data. As I said before all other position related things in my installation are fine. Can you tell me if there are different positions you're working with? I currently see, that I have to devices reporting a position under the path: "navigation.position" I will look into this, but the positions reported are very close and nothing as far as the mismatch I've seen in Saillogger.

Anyway, I looked into Saillogger today and the position is now updated and correct. I will keep monitoring it and see if it will update it correctly after the next passage. Did you do anything in the database?
I certainly didn't change anything on my side.
