New installation. Appears working with all default monitoring points. I added a Yacht Devices Run Indicator to monitor the 4 bilge pumps. My goal being able to know how often they maybe cycling, I can't seem to locate the NMEA messages in the Data Browser so I can create a new monitoring group.

    Hi @svcatalyst,

We’re not very familiar with the Yacht Devices Run Indicator. Do you know if its data can be brought into Signal K? It doesn’t have to go through NMEA; any method that gets the data into Signal K would be sufficient. However, getting it into Signal K—whether via NMEA messages or a dedicated Signal K plugin—is a prerequisite for monitoring it on Saillogger.

Yacht Devices responded to my inquiry with several questions for Saillogger. I'll add that below. It is a little over my head so I am hoping it makes more sense to you.

YDRI-04 can reports ON/OFF load status via NMEA 2000 standard Digital
Switching PGN 127501 "Binary Status Report"

according to parameters set in YDRI-04 Digital Switching channels rules,

    refer device manual

    https://www.yachtd.com/downloads/ydri04.pdf

Section V. "Device Configuration and Settings"

    Subsection 1. "Setting channel rules"

    Recommended workflow:

    • check/set YDRI-04 rules, I suggest to set up ON/OFF states based on
      pump current

    • confirm YDRI-04 correctly reports target DS channel ON/OFF state via
analyzing live Digital Switching PGN 127501 "Binary Status Report" data,
e.g. with NMEA Reader software or our CAN Log Viewer software

    • contact SailLogger maintainer to confirm if they support Digital
Switching PGN 127501 and how to map it to Pump State display.

Also, you can directly monitor PGN 127508 "Battery Status", voltage and
    current.

    • contact SailLogger maintainer to confirm if they support those.

Hi @svcatalyst — Saillogger doesn’t perform any NMEA or PGN decoding; all of that happens in Signal K, and SailLogger uses the information once it’s already decoded. So the real question is whether Signal K supports this PGN. Because you don’t see it in Data Browser, it appears it doesn’t support it, and unfortunately that’s beyond our control.

It turns out I needed to install the "NMEA 2000 Virtual Switch" plugin.
After I did this I see the data in the browser. I then went to Saillogger to add a section for monitoring thisswitch.
I select other as the type, when I go to add the field, the options do not include any field names that support digital switches.
    i.e. electrical.switches.bank.107 Bilge Eng. Voltage.state
I know I must be missing a step. And Thank You

Glad to hear you sorted it out! For future reference, it may take up to an hour for new data keys to show up in Saillogger. This is only applicable for the initial configuration, once done data flows in regular one minute intervals.
